The character of Hoxton
Hoxton is a tight grid of Georgian and Victorian streets running off Kingsland Road and Old Street. Hoxton Street's market stalls narrow the road on trading days, and the square itself has no through traffic, so cars collect from its edges rather than the centre. Regent's Canal runs along the northern boundary, and towpath access limits where a car can turn. Kerbside space is tight everywhere and busiest at school pickup time.
- Hoxton Square has no through traffic — cars collect from its edges.
- Hoxton Street market narrows the road to pedestrians only on trading days.
- Resident parking bays cover most side streets; the car waits on yellow lines briefly on call.
- Towpath access along Regent's Canal is pedestrian and cycle only.
