The character of Enfield
Enfield Town's centre is largely pedestrianised around the Market Place and the main shopping parade, so a car cannot simply pull up at the door for most addresses there. The streets around Enfield Chase and Gentleman's Row are wider and calmer, with better scope for waiting. The approach roads toward the M25, particularly the A10, carry heavier traffic as they funnel toward the motorway.
- Enfield Town's centre is largely pedestrianised — the car waits on the surrounding roads.
- Gentleman's Row and the streets near Enfield Chase have good kerb space for a longer wait.
- The A10 toward the M25 gets busy during the standard commuter peaks.
- Forty Hall's grounds have their own car park rather than roadside waiting.
