The character of Chesham
The valley setting means Chesham's streets rise sharply away from the River Chess, with several lanes narrowing to single-track as they climb toward Chesham Bois and Ashley Green. The Broadway itself is busier and more open, with reasonable waiting space, but the residential streets above it reward local knowledge over a satnav's shortest route.
- The Broadway has reasonable waiting space; the lanes above it narrow quickly as they climb.
- A car parked awkwardly on a steep residential lane can add a few unplanned minutes.
- The Underground station forecourt is small — the exact meeting point is confirmed beforehand.
- Elgiva Theatre collections use the small car park immediately beside the building.
