The character of Carshalton
The Ponds and the High Street around them are narrow and low-speed, with limited through-traffic compared with neighbouring Sutton. We generally wait on a side street just off the High Street, which keeps the immediate village centre uncluttered. Carshalton Road and the routes toward the A232 are busier and carry most of the area’s through-traffic.
- A side street off the High Street is preferred to the village centre itself.
- The Ponds area is low-speed and narrow; a car waits nearby rather than immediately beside it.
- Carshalton Road carries most of the area’s through-traffic.
- Private events at Carshalton House are agreed with a fixed meeting point in advance.
