The character of Cannock
The town centre is modest, built around a compact shopping area with short-stay bays doing most of the work for a kerbside wait. Roads toward Cannock Chase narrow quickly once they leave the town, running through forest with limited passing space in places. The M6 Toll junction on the eastern edge is the more useful reference point than the town centre itself for a long-distance departure.
- Cars hold in the town centre's short-stay bays and move to the door on your call.
- Forest roads on the Chase are single-track in places, slower than the distance suggests.
- The M6 Toll junction is the practical reference point for a long-distance departure.
- Chasewater event days bring a noticeable spike in local traffic around the park.
