Arriving at the venue
Cars seldom drop delegates at the main doors of a conference venue. Between the traffic marshals, the accreditation checks and the coaches coming and going, vehicles get sent to a set zone, sometimes a two-minute walk from the entrance people expect to use. Rather than guess from a site map, we check that zone with the organiser.
When you arrive counts as much as where. At any venue in the country, the half hour before a keynote is the worst possible time to turn up. Get there twenty minutes before or after that window and there's no queue at all, which for a speaker is exactly what matters.
