The character of Huddersfield
St George's Square is largely pedestrianised in front of the station, so cars hold on the surrounding streets and move to the forecourt edge on request. New North Road and Northumberland Street carry the bulk of centre-bound traffic, and both narrow noticeably as they climb out toward the valley sides. Castle Hill and Almondbury are reached by steep, twisting roads that we allow extra time for, particularly in poor weather.

- Castle Hill and Almondbury are reached by steep roads — extra time is built in during winter.
- University pickups near Queensgate use the campus set-down point where permitted.
