The character of Totteridge
Totteridge Lane is largely a single carriageway lined with hedges and mature trees, carrying light but steady traffic rather than the congestion typical of denser parts of North London. Darlands Lake and the open common land either side give the area a genuinely rural feel. Most properties have private driveways or generous verge space, which makes waiting straightforward compared with almost anywhere else in this group of areas.
- Most properties have private driveways or verge space, so a specific meeting point is rarely needed.
- Totteridge Lane narrows in places and can be slow behind agricultural or delivery vehicles.
- The village itself has very little through traffic outside the lane.
- The station is a short drive away at Totteridge & Whetstone.
