The character of Barking
Barking's town centre is largely pedestrianised around the shopping precinct, with vehicle access limited to the surrounding ring of streets. The station forecourt is busy with buses and taxis, so we hold nearby rather than directly outside. Barking Park, to the north, offers calmer standing space with its own perimeter roads and a boating lake as a useful landmark.
